Not sure what Regina is trying to communicate with this song. I think she is thoroughly confused about some stuff, and genuinely searching. She def. mocks the condescending attitude many ‘believers’ have regarding their security and future and the future of ‘non-believers’.
I think the deal for me is Christ I have met Jesus Christ in a massive real way and walk with him daily… I’ve seen prolly over 1000 healings and just God meeting people. I’ve talked to prolly 10′s of thousands of people about Christ and will continue to do so.
I think that Regina has experienced some ‘religious attitudes’, most likely the same stuff Jesus experienced, and is literally mocking those people.
Also I think she is falling into the same trap by being condescending towards them, perhaps for the sake of making herself feel better about the wrong things in her life… I don’t know.

Im so very glad that most of them can get along with each other.
On that note, Regina Spektor is a fantastic artist who believes the same concept.
And she’s great live. I find it strange that she sort of mocks religion in this song though.
Maybe you could provide further insight.
